Recently, Hu Zhi, Deputy General Manager of Hebei Dejin Glass Co., Ltd., stated that, taking nitrogen oxides as an example, the newly revised ultra-low emission standard in Hebei is 200 milligrams per cubic meter, and they can be controlled within 10 milligrams per cubic meter.
After 40 years of development, the glass industry in Shahe City has become a national base for glass production, processing, and sales. However, while the glass industry promotes the economic development of Shahe City, it also puts pressure on the regional ecological environment. In recent years, Shahe City has focused on reducing production capacity and emissions, and adding to quality and technology, continuously promoting the upgrading of the glass industry.
In terms of emission reduction, the city has invested a total of 2 billion yuan, and all glass enterprises in production have completed environmental protection projects such as desulfurization, denitrification, dust removal, and "smoke plume whitening" with high standards. Glass enterprises have steadily discharged smoke particles, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides below 10 mg/m3, 15 mg/m3, and 40 mg/m3, achieving "ultra low" emissions and reaching the national advanced level. Hebei Xinli Glass Co., Ltd., Hebei Dejin Glass Co., Ltd., and Hebei Hongsheng Glass Co., Ltd. were awarded the title of "Hebei Green Factory".
Shahe City continues to reduce production capacity, reducing the number of glass enterprises from 176 to 7, and reducing the number of glass production lines in production from 240 to 22. After integration, elimination, and upgrading, the number of glass deep processing enterprises has decreased from over 600 to less than 200.
In terms of technological innovation, Shahe City has invested 150 million yuan and Wuhan University of Technology to jointly build a research platform for the domestic glass industry - the Glass Technology Research Institute, to provide technical consulting, product testing and other services for enterprises. The research institute has made significant progress in five research projects, including 5G mobile phone glass and flexible glass, and has won the "China Glass Technology Innovation Award". Relying on the research institute, we have established the "Academician Workstation" and "Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base", laying a talent foundation for industrial innovation; Established and put into use the Jinan Industrial Technology Research Institute, and jointly built 5 research and development centers and laboratories with enterprises to provide technical research and development services for enterprises.
The "addition and subtraction method" promotes the glass industry in Shahe City to accelerate on a new track of high-quality development. In 2022, the glass industry cluster in Shahe City achieved a revenue of 37 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.25%.
